Upper Kedron
Kitchen and Laundry Renovation

MD Interiors was engaged to assist with the renovation of the original kitchen and laundry in this low-set brick home, built in 2001.

The new colour scheme for the kitchen was carefully selected to complement the home’s original floor tiles, as the owners preferred to avoid the cost of replacing the flooring throughout the house. A key focus was on enhancing storage capacity, along with creating a larger island bench to accommodate entertaining needs. To optimise space, hidden push-to-open cupboards were incorporated into the island, along with deeper countertops, a pull-out pantry, drawers for easy access, and Blum space corner drawers, designed to provide convenient storage for crockery and appliances.

The original laundry lacked sufficient storage, so practical storage solutions were essential. To address this, base and wall-hung cabinets were installed, with a washer/dryer tower and a dedicated broom and vacuum cupboard positioned on either side to maximise functionality.
