Complete Home Renovation

In 2014, the owners of this home, built in 2003, enlisted MD Interiors to assist with a complete renovation.

The layout of the master ensuite was redesigned to straighten angled walls, and a new toilet area was built. The old bath was removed to make way for a spacious walk-in shower. The large window was replaced with a fixed-pane window and louvres, ensuring privacy while showering, but still allowing for light and ventilation. The client requested a serene, neutral colour palette, so a mix of neutral stone look tiles and pearlescent shell tiles were used to create visual contrast. A custom-designed vanity, new plumbing fixtures, and feature lighting completed the look.

The original walk-in wardrobe in the master bedroom was custom designed and fitted out with a mix of shelving and hanging spaces. The new wardrobe design included short and long hanging areas, open shelving for shoes, and drawers. The wardrobe was extended to ceiling height to accommodate double short hanging, using the Hafele wardrobe lift systems and pull-out trouser rails. Since the walk-in robe was quite dark, LED strip lighting was installed along the kickboard area, with downlights added to the upper hanging sections to brighten the space.

The master bathroom, frequently used by the client’s visiting grandchildren, called for a touch of colour. A beautiful combination of blue Bisazza tiles was selected to introduce a vibrant pop of colour. A custom vanity, new shower screen, and updated plumbing fixtures completed the renovation.

The old laundry lacked both storage and bench space, so overhead wall-hung cabinets and base cabinets with ample bench space was included to resolve these issues.
